According to the Museum of Cycladic Art the lines o the Idols stomach note a that an operation or birth has taken place. This opposes common beliefs that the lines signify pregnancy.
This website features all the preparatory work, the final piece and photos of Eileen Botsford - Velissaropoulou's presentation in the Florence Biennale 2009, where she will be representing Greece. It is a notepad, a database of the thinking process behind the creation of the work from the preliminary thinking to the final execution. At times the thinking process may appear random and abstract, in the end however the finished puzzle will be based on this process.
